Happy New Year everyone! I am so excited to kick off a new decade with each of you. It's going to be a great ride.

I was recently asked - "Dwania, what's in your purse and what do the items say about your personality?" Now as odd as that question sounded, it brought me back to the times when I attended baby showers and they would play that game. I could never win because I didn't have the majority of the items in my purse. But that's OK. I know that someday, someone will quietly slip me the prize for being dedicated enough to come back after many losing streaks, and I'm totally fine with that.

So let's jump right in. I have emptied the contents of my small purse and although I usually have a great sense of all the items in it, I wonder if there is something I'm not currently thinking of, that I will find in there. This should be interesting. 

Items
  • Small Roots change purse for cash and coins (currently empty)
  • Small Roots change purse strictly for cards
  • 2 key fobs (one for each vehicle)
  • Cell phone
  • Lip gloss
  • 2 lipsticks (different colours; one dark and one light)
  • Receipts (I usually hoard these for a few weeks in one pocket before emptying)
  • My very own card to check myself in at the hospital
  • A pack of gum
  • Headphones
  • Business cards

Whew! Looking at this list, it does seem like a lot of items for a small bag. And I know this makes me look like a very boring individual, but hear me out. The thing is, I feel like I need to have the necessities with me on a day to day basis. As I am an analytical and very well organized person, it shows that I don't like clutter. The same goes for my car and house and this concept naturally flows into my work/business life as well. It becomes about having exactly what you need to make it through, and not about having to carry extra baggage because you think you might "need" it someday. It literally makes life much easier and less complicated and if you were to spin it a certain way, it shows contentment.

Now would I survive stranded on an island with these items? Definitely not! Not even the pack of gum or business cards could save me. And I just realized I don't even have cash in my change purse at the moment so I'd be the first one out, guaranteed. My cell phone wouldn't help either because I wouldn't have my charger with me for when it’s low on battery. Bummer. But isn't it so interesting just how unique we all are? Maybe you have items in your purse that could help get you to safety. Maybe not.
