Dear ASID San Diego Chapter Members,
As we head into my final month as President, there is so much happening - and so much to be grateful for.
We are just about finished collecting names of designers and community members who are ready for a little Spruce Up this fall. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who has worked so hard to support this program and help raise funds for our chapter. Your time, energy and volunteerism make these opportunities possible, and we truly appreciate you.
The summer heat may finally be winding down, and so is my term—but our calendar certainly is not! The next month is packed with activity, celebrations and exciting opportunities for our chapter.
Keep an eye out for our upcoming One Safe Place day tour in San Marcos. Registration is filling nicely, so be sure to reserve your spot. We’ll also be gathering for our Past Presidents’ Luncheon, bringing together many of the leaders who have helped shape our chapter over the years.
On the national level, our incoming board will be heading to ASID GATHER in Dallas, while Sheryl Wohl Chaffee travels to Washington to represent our chapter at the ASID Advocacy event, supporting important legislative affairs efforts on behalf of the design profession. Shannon Rice will also be representing our chapter at the Annual Humble Auction and Fundraiser.
And of course, don’t miss our Annual Installation, when my current board officially signs off and Kristy and her new team step in with fresh ideas, new energy and an exciting vision for the year ahead.
There is a wonderful flurry of activity happening right now, with so many great events already in the pipeline. I hope you’ll join us as we celebrate the volunteers who helped make this past year possible, support the members representing our chapter near and far, and get a first look at what’s coming next for ASID San Diego.
I hope to see you there!
Kirsten Recce
