The Summer Interns Are Here!


So many great things have been happening here at IMET since our last newsletter. From the Board of Regents awards given to two of our IMET grad students, media coverage, and the IMET baseball outing, there are plenty of things to update our readers. Keep scrolling to see. Emily Jolly:GSA President Q&A


Take a look at news about our incoming GSA president, Emily Jolly. Emily is IMET's newly elected Graduate Student Association (GSA) president. She has excellent ideas for elevating the graduate student association. As her campaign slogan said, we are bound to have a 'Jolly good time' when we see those changes happening at IMET.

IMET Students Shine in USM Board of Regents Awards

The University of Maryland Board of Regents has awarded two scholarships to IMET students Jens Wira and Jonas Miller. The Student Excellence Scholarship for Academics, Scholarship, and Research is highly selective with only four awards given across USM. With around 37,000 graduate students within the USM, IMET is incredibly proud that two out of the four scholarships were awarded to IMET graduate students.

BioBuggy Featured on WBAL!


Learn more about how Project Inner Harbor is turning locals into citizen scientists. The National Aquarium and IMET will collaborate with the Baltimore Underground Science Space (BUGSS) for their public series, Barcoding the Inner Harbor.

On June 13th, we had an IMET baseball outing, composed of grad students, faculty, and staff. We are all very busy here at IMET, but we will always make time for the things that matter! Until the next newsletter...
