Gracious God, you have placed within the hearts of all your children a longing for your word and a hunger for your truth. Grant that we may know your Son to be the true bread of heaven and share this bread with all the world, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
Mission & Life Committee Update
M&L Begins “Listening” Tasks

Interviews with people throughout the community will be the next step for Immanuel’s Mission & Life Committee as it seeks to fulfill its mandate to “listen out” to the community around us and “listen in” to our Immanuel faith community. The Mission & Life Committee’s goal is to provide a fresh perspective on our mission beyond our doors and life of our faith community at Immanuel.

The Mission and Life Committee has been busy, meeting nearly weekly this month. Two orientation sessions with Pastor Paul have been followed by several sessions, developing a plan for their work and appropriate questions for community interviews. They also are amassing demographic data on our area. Community interviews will be followed by determining how best to go about surveying the congregation for your perspectives.

After a couple of months of intensive work, the M&L Committee will sit down with the yet to be formed Call Committee to share their insights and begin work on the “Ministry Site Profile,” an essential tool for the call process. Your prayers for their work are greatly appreciated!
