One year ago this month I had the honor of becoming Mayor of this amazing Town. And while that history-making moment will always be unforgettable for me, there have been many special experiences since then that have helped underscore what a privilege it is to have this job.

In September of last year I had the opportunity to make a presentation at the North Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Mayors’ Breakfast. Other than the day I was sworn in, it was the first time in my new role that I spoke in front of an audience. I stood before the Mayors of local municipalities that morning and told them about everything that is happening in Lake Park, including new development, our environmental projects, and our innovative and creative approaches to addressing existing situations and planning for the future. I cannot tell you how proud I was of Lake Park when I saw and heard the reactions of the other Mayors as they shared how impressed they were with our accomplishments and future plans.

This important moment, as well as so many others, would never have happened if people like you hadn’t voted to elect me to the Commission back in 2017. It is now time to elect someone to fill a vacant commission seat. I urge you to come out to cast your vote for the candidate of your choice on March 19. For more information about the election, please visit the ELECTIONS section of the Town website or contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 561-881-3311.

Traffic stops play a crucial role in maintaining safety within the Town of Lake Park. Their primary purpose is to enforce traffic laws and regulations, such as speeding, which is one of the most frequent complaints our local PBSO receives. Traffic stops also serve as a valuable tool in crime prevention. By conducting regular traffic stops, law enforcement officers can identify and apprehend individuals who may be involved in criminal activities such as drug trafficking, weapon possession, or driving under the influence. Additionally, traffic stops help deter potential criminals and assist with speed enforcement, making the Town safer for everyone.

The Town is proud to shine a spotlight on the commendable efforts of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office District 10 for their unwavering commitment to keeping our community safe. Between the years of 2021 and 2023, they performed close to 8,500 traffic stops within our 2.4-square-mile Town, demonstrating their dedication to ensuring the security and well-being of the Town of Lake Park.

Municipal Election Day 2024 is fast approaching! Four qualified candidates – Michael J. Hensley, Hollis Langer, Anne Lynch, and Rafael Moscoso – are running for one seat, and your vote will help decide who wins. The winner will serve for one year to complete the remainder of Former Commissioner John Linden’s term.

Polls will be open from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM. If you are unsure of your polling location, please use the Precinct Finder tool here. If you prefer to vote by mail, click here for more information. Voting is your opportunity to make a difference in Lake Park.

For additional information, visit the ELECTIONS section of the Town website or contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 561-881-3311.

Lake Park leaders were honored to celebrate the 103rd birthday of Ms. Ina Bell Well, a patient at the Lake Park Conviva Care Center. In attendance were Mayor Roger Michaud, Commissioner Judith Thomas, Town Manager John D’Agostino, members of Ms. Well’s family, and the Conviva staff. Everyone was honored to have been a part of such a wonderful and monumental occasion.

DID YOU KNOW THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GARBAGE AND TRASH?

Many people use the terms “garbage” and “trash” interchangeably, but there is a difference between the two.

  • Garbage is small non-recyclable, non-hazardous items including food and organic waste, etc. (ie, things that come from a kitchen or bathroom).
  • Trash is made up of large items such as appliances, carpet, furniture, items stored in the attic or garage, carpets, etc. (ie, items that, if they were in usable condition, could be resold or repurposed).
