A Weekly Note from Mayor Gary L. Graham
Last week, the Belleville News Democrat printed an editorial titled, " After 20 years, mayor leaves city ready to challenge the big kid." If you have not read it already, I encourage you to do so.

The editorial stated, "O'Fallon has done an impressive job during Graham's tenure. The city of 29,000 residents with a median household income of $79,800 has leveraged multiple interstate interchanges into sales taxes of $7.7 million of their $17.8 million general fund."

Construction Updates
Green Mount Road:  The Green Mount Road project has officially started! This improvement between Regency Park and Highway 50 will include 4-lanes with a planted median and intermediate turn lanes. The project will also consist of a new signalized intersection at Cambridge Boulevard, which will serve as the main entrance to the new St. Elizabeth's Medical Campus. In addition to the street improvements, a ten-foot wide bicycle/walking path will be installed on the west side of Green Mount Road -- providing a continuous pedestrian access route from Regency Park to the Family Sports Park and the Illini Bike Trail. Two-way traffic on Green Mount Road is expected to be maintained throughout construction. The project is scheduled to be completed on November 1, 2017, weather permitting.

Illini Bike Trail and Sidewalk Improvements:  Most of the sidewalk along the west side of Lincoln Avenue has been installed. Due to the weather, the planned shoulder improvements on Lincoln, south of Highway 50, will be delayed until spring, 2017.
