Here at Cross Roads we believe that God has good news for every life circumstance. This Sunday, we earnestly search the wisdom of God for good news regarding one of life’s most complicated subjects: suicide. September is suicide awareness month, and we want to do our part to raise awareness, inspire hope, and help ensure we all live to see another day. We are blessed to have Rev. Joshua Warner delivering Sunday's message. He is a mental health professional and ordained United Methodist Deacon. His message fits in well with our worship series Inside Out: Wisdom for the Mind, Body, and Soul. The series is based on the 2015 and 2024 Disney/Pixar movie Inside Out. The movie is about a young lady named Riley and her animated emotions. Each week, we are exploring one of Riley’s emotions. This Sunday is focused on the emotion of sadness. Because of the delicate nature of Sunday’s subject, please do whatever is needed to care for your mental and emotional wellbeing. We will have clergy available after service to speak with someone who is in need of any support. Scripture says that when we put on a garment of praise God will lift our heavy, weary spirit. As we praise God, we pray the Holy Spirit lifts our hearts, ease our minds, and strengthen our souls. Come, let us worship.

This year our Pastor turns 32, thanks be to God! To celebrate these years of life Pastor Deontez is asking that people donate $32 to the Good Samaritan Fund. 100% of our Good Samaritan Fund support those who come to our doors with a desperate need. We are not always able to meet 100% of the need, but we strive to support 100% of those in need. Food Bank In Need of Donations

Cross Roads has supported Desert Mission Food Bank for years in order to be able to provide our community with the basic needs they deserve. Below is a list of the donations that are acceptable. All donations should be unopened, labeled and in its original packaging. Heart-healthy foods that are low in sodium and fat are encouraged.

Whole wheat pasta
Whole grain cereal
Low sodium canned veggies
100% juice
Chicken and tune in water
Low sodium canned beans
Dry beans
Natural peanut butter
Bottled water
Hygiene products
Baby formula (orange or blue Similac for ages 12 months and younger)

Liturgist Volunteers Needed

We are looking for volunteers to participate in worship. We need volunteers to read scripture, and lead us in prayer. If you are interested sign up in the Lobby or speak with James Pelfrey.

Nursery Attendants Needed

We are looking for volunteers to serve as pre-school attendants to supply help with our toddlers during worship. Volunteers would help Rev. Mary and Tom during children's time.

P.E.O. Chapter CF

Spooktacular Team Trivia

The P.E.O. Sisterhood is a philanthropic education organization that helps women financially through scholarships, loans, and grants. For more info visit their webpage https://www.peointernational.org/

They are hosting a team trivia night at Cross Roads UMC on Saturday, October 19th to help raise funds to continue to contribute to the scholarships, loans, and grants that they offer.

Team Trivia Competition - come with your team (up to 6 people) or join one at the event! There will be a gift basket silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and prizes. Themed hors d'oeuvers will be served. Costumes are encouraged!
