A Letter from the Athletic Director
What a month it has been! The fall season wrapped up in tremendous style, and we’re excited to highlight it all in this month’s newsletter. We are incredibly proud to celebrate two state championships this fall. Field Hockey secured its first title since 2003, while Boys' Soccer captured its first championship since 1994. These victories were impressive on their own, but what truly stood out was the way both teams represented St. Thomas Aquinas, with class, sportsmanship, and integrity every step of the way.
Girls' Soccer continued its tradition of excellence by reaching the semifinals, and both Football and Volleyball had strong seasons as well, earning well-deserved playoff appearances. We say this often, but it remains true: success on the field is meaningful, yet it is how we achieve that success that defines us. The culture our athletes and coaches continue to build, rooted in effort, respect, and the STA mission, is something we deeply value and couldn’t be prouder of.
Off the field, our commitment to service is on full display as STA is completing another outstanding school-wide food drive. This yearly initiative continues to be one of the most impactful ways we support our broader community.
In addition, we celebrated two NCAA Division I signings this fall, with an anticipated 7–10 more athletes expected to commit at various collegiate levels come spring.
As we head into the winter season, let’s embrace the holidays with loved ones, remember those who are less fortunate, and find ways to support them in their time of need.
Happy Holidays - Saints Pride!

Charlotte and Talula Sign to Play D1 Lacrosse | |
Charlotte De Tolla
Charlotte De Tolla recently committed to playing Division I Women's Lacrosse at the University of Vermont. Charlotte and her family have worked incredibly hard to reach this milestone. Over her four-year career, and she’s not finished yet, she has won five state championships: two in girls’ soccer, two in girls’ lacrosse, and one in girls' basketball.
What a legacy she leaves here at St. Thomas, and we cannot wait to follow her journey in the years ahead.

Talula Gregg
Talula Gregg has committed to Vanderbilt University to play Division I Women's Lacrosse. Talula’s path to STA took a bit of time, but she arrived in her junior year and immediately made an impact. In her short time here, and she also isn’t done yet, she has already won state championships in both lacrosse and field hockey. Her dedication and hard work have brought her to this moment, and her family is overjoyed.
In just two years, Talula has left a lasting mark on STA. We are incredibly proud of her and excited for all that lies ahead.
| “ONCE A SAINT, ALWAYS A SAINT” | FIELD HOCKEY WINS 2025 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP | |
What a story that unfolded this fall with the Field Hockey Team. The Saints finished #4 in the regular season with an 11-3 record, losing to Mascenic 1-0, Mascoma, 3-2, and Gilford 2-1.
#4 St Thomas went on to defeat #3 Mascenic HS 4-0 in a dominant State Championship Final at Bedford, HS. In the playoffs, the Saints defeated:
Quarterfinals #5 Mascoma 3-2 in OT
Semi-Finals #1 Berlin 2-1
Finals #3 Mascenic 4-0
The journey for Coach Lindsay Dobecki and this program has not been easy since she took over 4 years ago, rebuilding this program from the ground up. To watch this team get better and better every year, and win as a TEAM, has been so much fun for everyone involved.
To the team, from all of us at Saints Nation, job well done! First class on the field and first class off the field. You deserve and have earned this achievement!
| BOYS' SOCCER 2025 STATE CHAMPIONS | |
#1 St Thomas defeated #2 Kearsarge 3-0 at Bedford High School to win the State Championship. This is the first Championship since 1994 and the second championship in school history.
The Saints finished the regular season 13-1-1 with their only loss to Kearsarge 1-0 and tie to Stevens HS 0-0. In the playoffs, the Saints did the following:
Preliminary Round defeated Mascoma High School 4-0
Quarterfinals Round defeated Prospect Mountain 4-0
Semi-Final Round defeated Trinity 2-1
Championship defeating Kearsarge 3-0
Defense was on display virtually all year and it continued in the playoffs giving up 1 goal through the entire post-season. Player of the Year, Angus Forman, was a force all playoffs, putting the ball in the net for the Saints.
What a year for Coach Ethan Rech and staff. They have worked with this team for the last four years, building to this point, and to finally break through, what an accomplishment!
To the team, job well done!! How you handled yourself on and off the field was first class.

Winter Sports
As quickly as fall sports wrapped up, winter sports were underway! The swim team kicked off its season on Monday, November 17, followed by girls’ and boys’ basketball and skiing on November 24. The girls’ and boys’ hockey teams are set to take the ice for their first official practices on Monday, December 1, with Indoor Track also beginning that day as well.
The winter season is shaping up to be just as exciting as the fall! Both the girls' basketball team and the boys' hockey team are coming off State Championship seasons. While the girls' look to reload, the boys' hockey team is aiming for another strong run before moving up to Division I next year.
Boys' Basketball is also coming off another impressive campaign. After winning the 2023–2024 State Championship, they reached the semifinals last season. With 20 freshmen joining the program, the varsity squad looks fast, energetic, and fun to watch.
Skiing, Indoor Track, and Swimming are all poised for strong seasons as well. What will the coming months bring? We can’t wait to find out!
