New Beginnings

We’re excited to welcome and celebrate the newest members of our Student Affairs team and those who have recently changed positions!

Join us in spotlighting our Student Affairs colleagues and congratulate them the next time you see them on campus.

Staff Development

Neurodiversity in the Workplace

This month, we're spotlighting a curated collection of resources on neurodiversity in the workplace, put together by the wonderful Melissa Victor Totah. Whether you're a manager looking to better support your team or simply want to learn more, these are a great place to start:

We hope to bring the full collection into the Self-Guided Learning area of the site soon! In the meantime, explore what resonates with you.

New on the Staff Development Site: Student Rights & Responsibilities Resources

We've added a dedicated page for the Student Rights & Responsibilities (SRR) Office, your go-to resource for understanding student conduct, behavioral intervention, and student complaints. Find key training videos, departmental overviews, and helpful reference guides to help you navigate the best support path for students. Stay tuned for more department-specific pages to come!

Save the Date: Wellness Fest - Friday, April 24

Mark your calendar for this annual celebration of employee wellness and the value of self care, capping off the annual Exercise Stars campaign. Whether or not you participate in Exercise Stars, join us at EVC to connect with peers, speak with vendors about benefits available to employees; participate in games, campus challenges, exercise demos, and dancing; grab lunch at a food truck; and possibly take home a great prize! Visit the Employee Wellness page for more information.

In Case You Missed It

  • Connect with Career Life Design Services: Handshake is ACC’s exclusive student job platform connecting Riverbats with employers hiring now. Encourage students to visit the Make It Center for Job Connect Mondays and Walk-In Wednesdays to receive career guidance in various ways. No appointment is required, and students can learn more at austincc.edu/careerevents.
  • All Majors Job Fair: Know a student looking for a job? Would they like to meet employers and learn about organizations that want to hire ACC graduates and students? Encourage them to attend the All Majors Job Fair on Wednesday, April 15, at the Highland Campus Building 1000 (upper and lower levels near the Social Staircase), from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Students can register on Handshake.
  • Institutional Effectiveness Report Card: ACC is asking a big question: How can we better focus our work on the things that help students succeed the most? The College already tracks important information about how students are doing, like whether they stay in school, finish their programs, and reach their goals. This information is organized into the Institutional Effectiveness (IE) Report Card. Click here to read more.
  • Central Texas Learning Festival: ACC will host and participate in the 2026 Central Texas (CTX) Learning Festival, a five-day celebration of curiosity, creativity, and community-powered learning happening Wednesday, March 11, through Sunday, March 15. The CTX Learning Festival is free and open to all. Events are organized by community partners across the Austin area, including ACC, and invite students, employees, families, and neighbors to explore new ideas and experiences.
  • Basic Needs and Mental Health Counseling Realignment: ACC recently launched the newly organized Basic Needs & Advocacy and Mental Health Counseling Services offices. Learn more about the two offices and how they are already working to remove barriers to student success.
  • Joyous Employee Mixer: The Ambassadors of Joy are hosting their next ACC Joyous Employee Mixer on Thursday, March 26, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Elgin Campus in an effort to bring ACC employees together for food, music, fun, and more! This experience is geared towards providing engagement connections, fellowship opportunities, and whole wellness events periodically throughout the ACC District.
  • We Lead Together: A Hybrid Symposium: We Lead Together is a full-day hybrid symposium and workshop hosted by the ACC Chapter of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (ACC-AAWCC). Designed to inspire leadership and professional growth, the event features a single-track agenda of speaker-led sessions and collaborative discussions focused on success in higher education. Click here for more and to register.
  • Testing Center Honored: ACC was recently named one of the Top 20 National CLEP Test Centers as part of the CLEP Honors Awards Program. National test centers are recognized for administering the highest number of self-funded CLEP exams. Learn more about their incredible achievement here.
  • Chancellor's Town Hall: Please join us at the next Virtual Employee Town Hall with Russell on Friday, March 13. This is a great opportunity to connect with colleagues, hear what’s new, get clarity on key priorities, and join an open conversation about what’s next.
  • Employee ID Card Issuance: As part of the recent realignment within ACC, Security Management will no longer provide in-person employee ID card distribution. Access requests will continue to be submitted and processed through the existing process and managed by Security Management; however, employee photographs and card issuance will now be handled by the respective Campus Manager’s offices across the district. Click here for a list of designated campus locations and their available hours for card processing.
