New Beginnings

We’re excited to welcome and celebrate the newest members of our Student Affairs team and those who have recently changed positions!

Join us in spotlighting our Student Affairs colleagues and congratulate them the next time you see them on campus.

Every fall, Austin Community College (ACC) proudly hosts the General Assembly (GA) bringing together employees from across the District to connect, learn about the state of the college, celebrate our successes, and get excited about the future.

This year’s collegewide event, themed “Loving Students to Success,” will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

All employees, except adjunct faculty, scheduled to work during the time of the event are required to attend. The event is optional for adjunct faculty. Part-time and hourly employees who are scheduled to work for only some of the hours of the event should work with their supervisors to determine the best plan of action.

If you have any immediate questions, please send an email to generalassembly-group@austincc.edu. To receive the latest updates, please subscribe to General Assembly reminders.

Professional Development

Our Student Affairs Culture Reboot Training is underway and has been a huge hit so far!

We've currently completed three of our six scheduled trainings for Student Affairs supervisors. Our remaining supervisor training dates for the Fall semester are Oct. 10-11 (Elgin Campus), Oct. 17-18 (Rio Grande Campus), and Oct. 24-25 (Round Rock Campus).

As Dr. Buchanan shared previously, our training with supervisors this fall is just the first stage of our Student Affairs Culture Reboot. All other Student Affairs staff will receive training in Spring 2025 before we launch our New Employee Onboarding experience for all new staff in Fall 2025.

Keep an eye out as we get closer to Spring 2025, as we'll be sharing more details about the Student Affairs Culture Reboot Training that all SA staff will be required to attend.

We look forward to continuing to engage with all of you throughout the coming weeks and months.
