Welcome back, everybody! We hope you all had a fantastic vacation and are ready to hit the ground running this month. Your student representatives in ASI are excited to continue working on your behalf as we continue to promote inclusion on campus, plan exciting events and ensure your voices are heard.
Over the break, President Conoley, Vice President Cesca and I traveled to Washington D.C. to join several other students during CSU Advocacy Day. We spoke on behalf of you, the student body of Long Beach State, to raise awareness for the issues we face and the solutions we can implement. In particular, we pushed for the re-authorization of the Higher Education Act, which bolsters our educational resources, in addition to increasing the Federal Pell Grant and improving assistance for undocumented students. We are looking forward to implementing these same goals on campus throughout the rest of the semester!
As students wrap up midterms and even get ready for finals, I'd like to highlight some of the amazing resources offered by Student Health Services, where both mental and physical assistance are available on-site. I would highly recommend reading more about how you can utilize these resources on their
website
.
Another important resource, particularly for students with food insecurity, is the Beach Pantry. The pantry has been officially relocated to USU 313, across from its original location, with the same operating hours as before. Be sure to stop by if you need food!
Lastly, don't forget to grab your tickets to see
Ken Jeong
! Tickets are officially available for students starting today at the USU Info & Ticketing Center. We hope to see you there!
Have a great rest of your week!
