Happy Wednesday, Long Beach State! As midterms wind down and finals remain on the horizon, we hope you can take some time to enjoy some of the amazing upcoming events ASI has lined up for you, all of which can be found on our
event calendar
.
One event that we are particularly excited about is
Conscious Collection
, a showcase of artwork from Cultural Affairs, LGBTQ Affairs, Pregnant & Parenting Students, Veterans Affairs and Women & Gender Equity. Conscious Collection will take place tomorrow in the Art Gallery, also known as USU-100, from 6 to 8 p.m. Stop by and enjoy free food, refreshments and an array of inspiring artwork from your fellow students!
I would also like to bring attention to the remarkable accomplishments of Commissioner for Pregnant & Parenting Students Erika Rodriguez for helping to ensure the availability of high chairs in the University Dining Plaza. This achievement helps Long Beach State maintain its mission of promoting inclusive excellence, regardless of background or status.
Additionally, I am proud to say that the pilot program for Pay it Forward, which facilitates donations for food-insecure students, has officially launched. Through this program, generous members of the Beach community can donate the standard meal price, $5,
to any USU food vendor
from now until April 26. Donations will be distributed directly to food-insecure students through the
Basic Needs Program
, ensuring that they end up in the right place. Please consider contributing to this program and lending a hand to the students that need it most. All donations are appreciated!
We hope you have an amazing rest of your week!
