INSIDE
STUDENT GOVERNMENT
A MESSAGE
FROM PRESIDENT JARA
Hello, Long Beach State! With just three weeks left before finals, it's crucial that we keep our heads high and prepare for a solid finish. Be sure to read about the work your student government has done to finish out the semester strong in the contents of this newsletter!

As the mascot selection process continues, we would like to thank the 10,000 members of the Beach community that participated in our community poll. We are ecstatic to have received such a large number of responses, and we are excited to make your voices heard in the selection of our mascot in May!

Other recent successes in ASI include Conscious Collection, which featured art and poetry from various underrepresented groups on campus. This event was truly captivating, and I am very grateful to the hundreds of students, staff and faculty that contributed to its success. In addition, your executive team consisting of Vice President Almahdi, Treasurer Luna and myself held the final Take a Sec with an Exec program last week. We cannot understate how amazing the student response was, and we are looking forward to incorporating your concerns into our agenda for the final few weeks of the semester!

Finally, I would like to bring attention to the numerous open positions in next year’s student government. If you have any interest in representing students and advocating on their behalf, consider applying to any number of the open seats in the Senate, Lobby Corps and more. Apply on Beach Sync today!

Have a great week!
Go Beach!
