STUDENT GOVERNMENT
A MESSAGE
FROM PRESIDENT JARA
Happy Wednesday, Long Beach State! Your student government has been exceedingly pleased with how this semester has gone so far, and we hope you feel the same. With ASI Elections in March, the California Higher Education Student Summit (CHESS) in a couple of weeks and continuing programs from Beach Pride Events occurring throughout the semester, we’ve got a lot to look forward to. Any and all students with an interest in leadership are encouraged to apply for any number of the elected and appointed positions within ASI. Click here for more information.
As mentioned above, CHESS provides a unique opportunity for your student representatives to truly advocate on your behalf. Following the passing of the Bills of Interest resolution in the senate, representatives from your student government will have a compiled list of bills in the California State Legislature that are relevant to campus life at LBSU. We will work diligently to bring attention to these bills in order to ensure that your voices are heard and your interests are expressed.
Lastly, as the mascot search continues, we would like to remind students that the submission deadline is Friday, March 8. Make sure you submit your ideas here before time runs out!
We hope you have a great rest of your week!
Go Beach!
