Welcome back, everybody! With almost two weeks of classes behind us, we hope you're all adjusting well to the new semester.
A great way to start off any semester at Long Beach State is by joining the festivities at Week of Welcome, our bi-annual student organization showcase that took place yesterday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Central Quad and will close out today at the same time and place. With countless clubs, organizations, fraternities and sororities, and so much more on full display, Week of Welcome is the perfect opportunity to meet new people and make your college experience the best it can be. Don't miss out on the chance to expand your involvement while filling up on some great food from various food trucks!
Additionally, throughout the week, there will be a few crucial open forums that we don't want you to miss out on. Our university is currently considering three candidates to be the new Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA), a decision that
WILL impact your experience at CSULB in ways that will be seen and felt. Last night, Dr. Beth Lesen provided students with some enlightening information about her background and what she could contribute as VPSA, and the two other candidates will have a chance to share their stories and goals with you today and tomorrow. No matter what your major is, what year you are in, or how involved you are on campus, it is imperative that you make an effort to be at the remaining open forums:
Dr. Mary Ann Takemoto
Thursday, Jan. 30 from 2:10 to 3:10 p.m. – USU Ballrooms (USU second floor)
Dr. Lea Jarnagin
Friday, Jan. 31 from 1:40 to 2:40 p.m. – USU Ballrooms (USU second floor)
We hope to see you there and at Week of Welcome today! Have a great week and an amazing semester!
