INSIDE
STUDENT GOVERNMENT
A MESSAGE
FROM VICE PRESIDENT ALMAHDI
Hello, Long Beach State! Today is the last day for you to cast your vote in the 2019 ASI Elections, so don't forget to have your voice heard and help shape student life at Long Beach State! Search "elections" in your student email for the ballot.

I am proud to say that CHESS was a tremendous success for our student government and the Beach community as a whole. Our large delegation met with 12 legislators to advocate for a wide range of student concerns, with a strong emphasis on the need for financial aid reform. In addition, your ASI student leaders attended the President's Commission on the Status of Women Colloquium in which the contributions of women on campus and in the Long Beach community were recognized.

Beyond CHESS, your student government has been working hard in many other ways. Vacancies across the President's Cabinet and Lobby Corps have been filled, ensuring that more students have a say in the decisions we make together.

Lastly, we would like to thank all of the people that submitted an idea for our Mascot Search Committee. We received hundreds of unique submissions and are excited for the student voting period in May!

Have a great week, and don't forget to vote!
Go Beach!
