A MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT NINO
ON MARCH FOR OUR LIVES
|
|
Students, parents and activists across the country have been planning the #MarchForOurLives in Long Beach, Washington, D.C., and across the country to stand together against gun violence and mass school shootings. My team and I have been working with and supporting educators and student leaders from across the city to show our support for the students, families and victims of the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, as well as the many mass shootings that have occurred on school campuses throughout the nation.
Long Beach high school student Trevor Schnack has taken the lead in organizing the march in Long Beach, which will begin at 10 a.m. this Saturday at Bixby Park on Ocean Blvd. There will be guest speakers, including Mayor Robert Garcia, and the Poly High School jazz band will be performing at 9:30 a.m. Visit the
Facebook event page
for more information.
I encourage those that can to join us in our efforts this Saturday. Together, we can make change happen, and we can join the fight to make sure this truly never happens again.
