INSIDE
STUDENT GOVERNMENT
A MESSAGE
FROM VICE PRESIDENT ALMAHDI
Hello, Long Beach State! We've had a busy couple of weeks here in student government, but we're not stopping until we reach the finish line. Some of the recent accomplishments of ASI and you, the student body, are highlighted below.

We saw a tremendous turnout yesterday at the Owen's Condition for Tuition reception, where students were rewarded for maintaining their physical health at the Student Recreation & Wellness Center and one lucky student walked home with a check for a semester of pain undergrad tuition! We are immensely grateful for our determined participants, and we hope to see even more student involvement next year.

Another successful event from last night was An Evening With Ken Jeong, which provided students with an exciting opportunity to engage with one of the most beloved comedians of our time. Students that were lucky enough to attend this sold-out event were able to pose questions to Ken and hear how he went from doctor to big-screen star. We can't thank him enough for spending an evening with the Beach community!

Last, but definitely not least, our Earth Week events proved even more successful than we had hoped. From trivia night at The Nugget to our star-studded Green Generation Mixer, this was a week that none of us will be forgetting any time soon. A huge thanks belongs to the hundreds of students, staff and faculty that contributed their time and efforts to the success of these enjoyable and educational events. We appreciate all of you!

Finally, be sure to check out the mascot search website for our most recent update. The student vote next week will feature three options: sharks, stingrays and "Go Beach," which serves as the vote for no mascot. We look forward to receiving your votes!

Have great week, LBSU!
Go Beach!
