Happy October, Long Beach State! We here at ASI are thrilled to begin another month of student engagement and progress. In the contents of this week's newsletter you will read all about our continuing efforts to maximize inclusivity all across campus.
Fellow students, there is an amazing volunteer opportunity that I would love to bring your attention to. This Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the You Run This Town Foundation & Generosity Feeds invites all students to come to St. Anthony HS in Long Beach to help fight child hunger in our great city. Please join us in feeding those who need it most. If we bring enough volunteers, the hosts of this event will donate over 5,000 meals to the Beach Pantry. Come show your pride for our community at this truly special function.
As themes of advocacy press forward, I remind students that the Social Justice & Equity Committee is constantly working to ensure equality for all students. Today, our Students-at-Large will appear in front of the ASI Senate for confirmation. And next Tuesday, the committee will meet to establish goals and plan the best path towards equity on campus for the academic year. We hope our work and the work of all students will transcend our time here at the Beach, and we are looking forward to making this month another one for the books.
