A MESSAGE
FROM VICE PRESIDENT ALMAHDI
|
|
Hey, everyone! Wishing you all the best of luck as we move into midterm season. As the semester continues to move quickly, now is the perfect time to take full advantage of the resources provided by all ASI departments, ranging from fitness classes at the SRWC to food insecurity assistance
from the Beach Pantry.
Another resource that you are highly encouraged to participate in is the upcoming
Students of Color Conference
, which you can register for by following the link above. Through inspiring speakers and workshops, students will learn how to mobilize and serve as allies through this conference. The $5 registration includes breakfast and lunch, and a fee waiver is available for interested students. Hope to see you there!
For the first time, senators-at-large will be given specific focuses to promote inclusivity on a number of issues in the senate. Certain senators will now represent the interests of housing/residential life, athletics and graduate/transfer students. With this change, a wider scope of opinions can be considered during important senate deliberations. If you have any questions about these changes, please feel free to email me at
Leen.Almahdi@csulb.edu.
Yesterday's senate meeting included the first reading of our policy agenda, which highlights our goals and strategies for effective advocacy throughout the semester. Check out the livestreams of future meetings at
facebook.com/CSULBASIGOV/ to see what we'll be up to this year!
Have a great rest of your week!
