A MESSAGE
FROM PRESIDENT VELASQUEZ
The semester may have just begun, but things are already kicking into gear. All branches of student government held scheduled meetings last week to discuss the important issues facing the students we represent. Check out the summaries of each meeting below to see what we've been up to!

Throughout the week, we held several meetings, including one with Mayor Robert Garcia to discuss our upcoming voter registration efforts and the importance of affordable housing for the students of LBSU. As the establishment of new student housing comes closer, we must continue advocating for prices that students can afford. Students should be able to focus on their studies instead of struggling to find a place to call home.

Lastly, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of the students that decided to kick off the semester with a fun event. We are happy to announce that nearly 7,000 students decided to start fall 2019 with Smorgasport, and thousands of students chose to get involved with some of our amazing student organizations at Week of Welcome. Thank you all for being active at The Beach!

We hope you have an amazing rest of your week!
Go Beach!
