Local Update in Response to the Coronavirus

County Operating Status Changes Due to Coronavirus

Several Charles County facilities and programs are being closed or canceled due to the concerns over outbreaks of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Staff is continuing to assess the situation and will provide new developments as they become available.

Some of these changes include:

Nanjemoy Community Center and all Senior Centers are closed until further notice.
Crain Memorial Welcome Center is closed until further notice.
School-based community centers and Port Tobacco Recreation Center will close beginning March 13 and reopen on March 30.
Commissioners Quarterly Town Hall Meeting, District 4 Town Hall Meeting, and District 1 Town Hall Meeting are canceled.

If you have been in China or in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19 and have these symptoms, call your healthcare facility (medical office, urgent care, hospital, or health department) prior to your arrival. Your doctor will help you take steps to avoid exposing others to the virus.
