Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan has issued an executive order to close all non-essential businesses and facilities by 5 p.m. to help save lives from the COVID-19 outbreak.
Non-essential businesses are those not covered by federal guidelines such as healthcare, food, energy, public works, defense, law enforcement, transportation, financial services, water and waste.
Hogan encouraged residents to voluntarily shelter in place, and to not leave home unless they have an essential reason.
