Protect Yourself from the Coronavirus

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The virus that causes COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus that was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China.  The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. If you are sick, remember to: Stay home. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then throw it away. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces. Currently, there are three positive COVID-19 cases in Maryland. Governor Larry Hogan has declared a State of Emergency. Read more about Maryland's response to Coronavirus here.

Preventive Measures Avoid close contact with those who are sick. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

What To Do If I Think I Have Coronavirus? If you have recently traveled to China and have these symptoms, call your doctor. Your doctor will help you take steps to avoid exposing others to the virus.
