Council discussions on the proposed 2022-2026 Five Year Financial Plan have begun. Council and staff are working hard to meet our community's needs today while planning for the Squamish of tomorrow.
We want to hear from Squamish residents to create a plan that is a good fit for the neighbourhood, improves the livability of the area, and supports larger community goals outlined in the OCP.

TEMPORARY PATIO AND SIDEWALK PERMITS
Temporary patios or sidewalk sales area permit applications are now closed. Current holders of temporary patio permits can continue to operate their temporary patios until June 1, 2022, due to a recent District of Council motion on October 5 to extend the program for all temporary patio operators (Prior to this, the program was set to end on October 31).
For businesses seeking to convert their temporary patios into regular/ongoing offerings beyond June 2022, businesses will need to submit an application through the District's regular outdoor patio process, which is being streamlined for ease of use. Please check back to our website on October 20 for the application form.

RECYCLING TIP OF THE WEEK
Did you know that RecycleBC regularly audits the recycling collected by GFL to track contamination? The audits look for any non-packaging material to be kept out of the recycling, and the District may receive fines if the contamination level is too high. If you aren’t certain if the material is recyclable or not, check squamish.ca/waste-wizard or the Squamish Curbside App.
