story4 National Philanthropy Day

November 15 is National Philanthropy Day which celebrates the charitable work that individuals do to make a difference and create impact in their communities. It's a day to celebrate volunteers who give of themselves to organizations that promote everything from the arts to education to social services and everything in between. We encourage all of our nonprofits, donors, and volunteers to come together on this special day to celebrate the significant impact that philanthropy, through the tireless efforts of many outstanding organizations and individuals, makes across our communities in Central Massachusetts.

Make a Difference for the Veterans in Our Community

We honor those who serve in the armed forces and seek to do all that we can as a society to ensure their wellbeing on return. Veterans Day gives us a chance to reflect on the sacrifices, courage, and patriotism of our families in the military, especially our neighbors in Central Massachusetts.
A significant number of veterans suffer from the effects of traumatic stress, brain injuries, and other health conditions. Sadly, far too many are not receiving the proper care they deserve.
Fortunately, several Worcester area nonprofits are able to cater the specific needs of these individuals and their families. Veterans Inc., the largest provider of support services in our area, uses a case management approach to address the "total veteran," incorporating job training and employment services, transportation, and legal advice, making it a leader in ending homelessness among veterans.
To find out how you can help veterans in our community, please contact Kelly Stimson at donorservices@greaterworcester.org
