Local leadership and officials will be there to greet you with tokens of appreciation, refreshments, and a chance to win $500!* Take a few minutes to come to the Pop-Up Party location closest to you to pick up your swag bag, some tasty snacks, and an entry card for the grand prize drawing! If you have more time, we would love to get your photo in our "pop-up" photo booth!

*Grand Prize Entry – Each of the four Business Appreciation Pop-Up Party locations will feature a $500 Grand Prize. In order to be eligible for entry, businesses must be located in Isle of Wight County, the Town of Smithfield or the Town of Windsor. Businesses MUST attend a Pop-Up Party to be eligible to enter and may only enter the drawing at one Pop-Up Party location.

Riverside Smithfield Hospital Approved!
On March 18, 2022, The Virginia Department of Health announced its approval of Riverside Health System's application to build a full-service general acute care hospital in Isle of Wight County. The 50-bed facility, to be located near Route 10/Benns Church Boulevard and Route 258/Brewers Neck Boulevard, will include four operating rooms, an emergency department, a labor and delivery department with six obstetrics beds and level 1 neonatal nursery and other diagnostic, procedural and physician services. The hospital will employ hundreds of professional and support staff. MORE

54 Beans Celebrates One-Year Anniversary with Ribbon Cutting
The Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce and Retail Alliance hosted a ribbon cutting on Friday, March 18, 2022, to celebrate the one-year anniversary of 54 Beans Espresso Bar & Cafe at Eagle Harbor Shopping Center. 54 Beans is a contemporary coffee café with an atmosphere designed to encourage and inspire people.

Something Special Thrift Shop Celebrates Opening
The Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 to celebrate the opening of Something Special Thrift Shop at 302 Main Street in Smithfield. Something Special is an outreach of Hands & Hearts, a non-profit for adults with intellectual and other disabilities. This small but mighty shop gives these folks the opportunity to work and interact with the community.

The Hampton Roads Workforce Council recently launched the Let’s Go to Work campaign to encourage job seekers to rejoin the workforce during a critical time in which job vacancies are on the rise. The campaign will elevate job vacancies in high-demand industries in Hampton Roads (hospitality, IT, manufacturing, ship repair, and construction) and connect job seekers and employers through the programs and services offered through the Workforce Council, such as the Virginia Career Works, Veterans Employment Centers and NextGen.
