Riverside Lifelong Health Opens

New Smithfield Locations


Riverside Health System representatives, along with Smithfield Town Council members, participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 25, 2022, to celebrate the opening of three new Riverside facilities in Smithfield. Riverside Physical Therapy, Riverside Home Health and Riverside Hospice will be located at 13474 Benns Church Boulevard in Cypress Run Plaza.


Riverside Physical Therapy Smithfield, which opened October 31, 2022, will offer specialized physical therapy services including orthopedic, neurological, balance and fall prevention, and sports rehabilitation and performance among other tailored physical therapy services. For more than 30 years, Riverside Home Health and Hospice have been providing personalized home care for patients in Smithfield and Isle of Wight County out of the Newport News office. Isle of Wight County Schools is looking for businesses to partner with the school system to offer work-based learning experiences to students. This experience could be job shadowing, internships, apprenticeships and more! Last month, Kristi Sutphin with Isle of Wight County Economic Development attended the American Clean Power Association (ACP) Offshore WINDPOWER 2022 Conference in Providence, Rhode Island, with several state and regional partners including Virginia Economic Development PartnershipThe Port of VirginiaDominion EnergyVirginia Beach Economic Development, and Portsmouth Economic Development.


The Virginia delegation promoted Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project and marketed the Hampton Roads region as a growing supply chain hub for projects along the East Coast. Learn More!

Brighter Future Fund Provides Grants to Help Farmers


American Farmland Trust is accepting applications through November 15th to help farmers nationwide improve farm viability, access, transfer or permanently protect farmland or adopt regenerative agricultural practices. The Fund provides grants of up to $5,000. MORE

Virginia Cooperative Extension will host the 2022 Virtual Base Camp Conference on December 6 -7, 2022, focusing on Virginia Main Streets, Trails and Agritourism.
