Renovations downtown are currently underway on what will be a downtown lunch bistro with a speakeasy bar in the basement! You'll currently find Shabby Chic in the location where it will be, on Broadway, in the building east of the Hall.

Thanks to Proposition T passing, the school district is scheduled to start moving dirt on June 22nd! School Board President Tray Harkins says: "
The plan is still Aug 2021 open date. All construction equipment will come in from the south. During construction Lodwick and Wornall may have some lane closures as a turn lane is added to Wornall in front of the school. Lodwick will get realigned so that it’s square with the north side of Wornall and a turn lane added there as well. We are still working with the city on the direction for buses. The plan had them heading south on Lodwick coming and going. Car traffic will be east and west on Wornall and we proposed a four way stop there."

My father in law, Charles Cole, is always sharing little bits of wisdom that I thought might be fun to pass along:
• Don't put a question mark where God has put a period.
• It's not a bargain if you don't need it.
• When the wind is in the West, the fish bite the best.

This is a mother's shameless plug for our daughter, Mackenzie, who is 13. She's entered into an international art contest that offers a "People's Choice" award and she's in 2nd place!
The contest required you to research a dinosaur in your area and draw what it would look like. She spoke with dinosaur expert Gary Staab from Kearney and ended up drawing the Hypsibema Missouriense, a type of hydrosaur. It was a land dinosaur that was vegetarian and would have lived in this area!
Thanks for your support of our girl!
