At Basswood, we are focused on positive office referrals for students. This allows us to celebrate all of the wonderful things our students intentionally do and to make positive connections with families. Building strong relationships with students and families is at the core of this effort.
At Bluebonnet, we have implemented Morning Meetings. Morning Meetings are conducted in every classroom each morning to ensure that Social-Emotional Learning needs are met for all students on our campus. Morning Meeting time is carved out within our master schedule. We are also in the implementation/planning process of departmentalizing second grade to enhance the instruction of reading, writing and math.
At Heritage, we are focusing more on student reading and celebrating our students’ (as well as staff members’) achievements each six weeks at our new “HERO House Honors Assemblies.” At the end of December, a special award will await the teacher whose class has worked to earn the highest number of reading minutes, as well as the “House” and two individual students with the highest number of overall minutes read.
North Riverside Elementary
At North Riverside, this year we are implementing a technology plan to successfully become 1:1 in all of our classrooms. We will have iPads and Chromebooks for our students to use. North Riverside teachers and students are learning to become digital citizens.
At Parkview, we are building a focus around promoting literacy by building a strong foundation in early grade levels, and strengthening comprehension in all grades. Our focus is to improve reading levels across the campus by one year or more.
Sunset Valley Elementary
At Sunset Valley, we are working on enhancing our multicultural community awareness. We recognize that our community is made up of over 15 different home languages and that we have to be intentional in getting to know the many different cultures that represent Sunset Valley.
Chisholm Trail Intermediate
At Chisholm Trail, Gentlemanly Scholars has taken shape. Gentlemanly Scholars is a morning meeting where male students can elect to join and attend two days a week. They learn how to interact with peers, expectations of behaviors in society, and even learn how to tie a tie and the manners and expectations on wearing it.
Fossil Hill Middle
At Fossil Hill, the TEA Technology Lending Grant is allowing us to become the first 1:1 Chromebook campus in Keller ISD. We will be utilizing Google Classroom as an instructional tool in many of our classrooms extending the learning opportunities for our students.
Vista Ridge Middle
At Vista Ridge, we are establishing routines and procedures that will become the norm at our campus, while focusing first on relationships and student connections. We are also in our first year of AVID implementation.
Fossil Ridge High
At Fossil Ridge, we are working to connect 100% of our students to our school through clubs, organizations, activities and mentoring initiatives.
