News from the Wendt Center
Wendt Center staff wore blue on November 21st for Children's Grief Awareness Day. We are proud to serve children and families in our offices, in schools and homes, through our community partners, and at Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC.
The Wendt Center celebrated our 44th Anniversary with our Annual Benefit. We loved catching up with old friends and making some new ones. David Gregory was on point as his hilarious and genuine self and we were so honored to have Congresswoman Susan Wild serve as our keynote speaker to talk about her critical work in mental health and suicide prevention.
Wendt Center Executive Director Michelle Palmer served as an expert voice on the Manuscript , the DC Mayor's Office on Fathers, Men, and Boys series that addresses important conversations on men's mental health. You can watch the video here.
Join the Wendt Center for this global day of giving!
Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement designed to unleash the power of people and organizations in order to transform their communities and their world. At the Wendt Center, we are also dedicated to transforming the world. We want to make the world a place where the devastating impacts of grief and trauma are understood and everyone, no matter who they are, how much money they make, or what happened to them, can heal from life's worst moments.

In pursuit of this vision, the Wendt Center invites you to participate in this global movement of giving. On December 3rd, 2019 people from around the world will give back to their favorite non-profits. Give to the Wendt Center because you believe in creating a more resilient world. Give to the Wendt Center because healing can happen. You can wait until December 3rd, or you can show your support early. Click here to participate.
Have you seen #OptionBThere ?
It is no secret to us at the Wendt Center: this winter season and the holidays can be hard. The days are shorter, the nights are longer, many people find the darkness itself overwhelming. And when you are missing a loved one who has died, or your relationships to your family and friends feel different after trauma--and you're trying to figure out what it all means--the Wendt Center knows just how challenging that can be.

We want to share with you that #OptionBThere returns for another year. OptionBThere invites you to listen to expert advice and explore wonderful resources on how to find comfort this holiday season and how to be a comfort to others in your life who may desperately need your love and support. We hope you enjoy this one-of-a-kind resource.
Kerry Campbell, LICSW explains how anger is common for grieving children and what this often misunderstood emotion means!
