Insider Alert
Website Redesign Launch

As noted in Friday's Insider and on social media, we are excited to announce that St. Cecilia Catholic School has launched a redesigned school website. The new site is currently live for all to view.

The website address remains the same – https://saintceciliacatholicschool.org – but the website will have an updated design.

The design process, updating of content, and review have been taking place over the last few months. The goal of this redesign is to continue to improve communications and resources available to current and prospective families by making the website more user friendly, highlighting school programs, and marketing the school with an updated design.

As we launch this redesign, we are still in transition on a few items; some content pages that are still being updated, and other minor changes we will complete next week as the new design is launched.

We have created a page of known issues we are aware of as we make this launch. We have also created an online form to report issues you may notice.

Also, with some of the pages moving, some of the more active online forms are moving locations. Until we have completed this process, please use the temporary links for the following forms:

Thank you in advance for your patience as we make this exciting transition.
Updated Design
Here are some highlights regarding the new design.

  • Responsive & mobile friendly design - meaning the website renders properly on any device - computer, tablet, or phone.

  • A redesigned home page and additional redesigned page templates for other content pages.

  • The menu will now move with you as you scroll down the page - including in the mobile friendly format (see gif of dynamic scrolling navigation).

  • A social media feed is also built into the home page providing direct access to St. Cecilia social media interactions.
Menus and Navigation
Using analytics measured through website views and also Insider links visited, we have made significant updates to the navigation of the website to make finding information easier.

One of the main goals was to make the majority of pages on the website just require one click to access once you've opened the menu.

  • We have increased the number of main navigation channels of the site from six to nine - making information easier to access.

  • The larger navigation drop down menus allow for easier to read page names, as well as large action buttons dedicated for each navigation channel.

  • A new Quicklinks channel has been moved to the very top of the menu which is part of the scrolling navigation, and also on every page of the website, as well as being added to the mobile friendly menu.
Mobile Menu
The majority of traffic to the St. Cecilia Catholic School website comes through mobile devices. We made a concerted effort to improve our mobile menu.

  • The new mobile menu is larger, easier to access, and navigate.

  • The mobile menu works exactly like the standard menu, with the majority of pages on the website are accessible with now just one click to access once you've opened the menu.

  • The mobile menu also includes the large action buttons for each menu.

  • Additionally, the mobile menu has three standard action buttons, as well as easy links to view school social media pages.
New or Re-Named Menus
In order to provide easier access to more pages, we have added additional navigation channels to the website. We also changed the names of some. We've noted some of the changes below:

  • Parents - has been re-named to Family Resources

  • Our Faith - is a new channel highlighting the school’s Catholic identity.

  • Arts & Athletics - is a new channel showcasing the school’s art and athletic programs.

  • Connect - is a new channel providing easier access to connect with the school - contact information, email archive, faculty & staff directory, and other information.
Our mission at St Cecilia Catholic School is the ongoing Catholic formation and education of the whole child in mind, heart, and spirit, in preparation for an adult life of commitment and service.
