Quality Assurance Highlights: Report Reviews
|
As an accredited laboratory and third-party certification agency focused on the home building industry, Home Innovation Research Labs is uniquely suited to manage a residential green certification program, and quality assurance is central to NGBS Green certification. Over the next several Insider Update editions, we'll highlight key tenets of Home Innovation's quality assurance program.

100% of all report submissions — both rough and final — are reviewed by Home Innovation staff. Each verification report and accompanying documentation provides Home Innovation a snapshot of the Verifier's:
- Understanding of NGBS Green practices and compliance requirements
- Adherence to the verification protocol and certification process outlined in the VRG
Verifiers can earn an A, B, C, D, or F grade for a report based on accuracy and completeness. Every six months, each Verifier's grades are compiled, averaged, and sent to the Verifier, and, in some cases, their supervisor.
The report review process helps ensure consistent performance across the 300+ NGBS Green Verifiers and facilitates Verifier professional development.
