Hi Friends!

Oakland's Latest Hot Spots
For a friends recent 50th birthday, a dynamic duo put together an invaluable insiders 50 for 50 list of the area's best. They were kind enough to let me share them with you below.                       Drake's Dealership - 2325 Broadway, Oakland
As of this week, you're gonna want to spend every waking moment in a former Dodge dealership. That's because you LOVE Dodge, but also because Drake's Brewing Company transformed a 10,000 sqft former Dodge dealership into the beer garden and bar of your dreams with 350 seats, fire pits, Adirondack love seats, and the entire Drake's beer portfolio on tap, including experimental selections, usually only available at the brewery.

Mad Oak - 135 12th Street, Oakland
The 40 beers on tap, fresh-squeezed greyhounds, rotating food trucks, and pop-up kitchen serving Argentinian sandwiches would be enough to get us in the door of this huge new space. The fact that it also has a bi-level outdoor patio and a rooftop garden with a living wall just isn't fair to the East Bay's other outdoor drinking establishments.

The Double Standard - 2424 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland
While The Double Standard has the ornate wood detailing, pendant lighting, and craft cock-tailing (from a Bourbon & Branch alum) of a trendy cocktail lounge, this bartender-owned bar is more "friendly neighborhood watering hole with fixed-gear bikes on the back patio" than "hipster hangout with fixed-gear bikes on the back patio."

Starline Social Club - 645 W Grand Avenue, Oakland
This historic building dating back to 1893 has worn many hats -- an Odd Fellows Hall, a saloon, a janitorial supply center, a social club for the deaf -- and most recently a venue for underground art installations, dance parties, and live music. . While the downstairs space feels more hipster than underground punk, the upstairs 350-person dance hall that plays host to artist-driven performances, shows, and installations keeps the original spirit of the space alive.

Blackwater Station - 4901 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland
A world class neighborhood cocktail bar that has a focus on culinary and craft beverages. BWS has quickly become a staple in Temescal and North Oakland's burgeoning food scene. We believe in friendly hospitality, food sourced from local farms, and artisanal ingredients prepared in house by chefs.

Drexl - 382 19th Street, Oakland
If you're still mourning the loss of the menu-less BIG in San Francisco, Oakland native Alex Condé can satisfy your craving for something new and unexpected on Sundays when he's slinging Dealer's Choice cocktails at this bi-level industrial space. Alex is a master improviser, known in bartending circles for his genius-level understanding of the palate. Signature cocktail: Dealer's Choice. He'll deliver something awesome and personally catered to you.

The Ridge - Northern CA's Largest Retail Development
Are you as excited as I am about the "Ridge"? Guaranteed to be Oakland's new shopping and hangout spot when it opens Q3 2017, The Ridge just got underway with the last phase of the project that will be approximately 300,000+SF when it's completed. The Ridge will be a large outdoor multi-level shopping, dining, and retail destination for Oakland and Berkeley, California. The Ridge is envisioned as a pedestrian and bike friendly public space with landscaped  streets capes , shops, open outdoor cafés, and walkways for the community.  Yippee - it's long overdue!

Get Ready to Get Ready

While the last Quarter of the year tends to be the quietest for real estate, that's only on the surface.  Sellers can use these valuable months to get their homes in order, so they are ready, willing and able to come out "guns blazing" in the New Year.  While many think the spring is the prime time, I have had several record breaking sales in the early months of the year.  Buyers have been pent up discussing their new year's resolutions, which include buying a new home, as #1.  Also important to note, there is also less competition on the market than there is in the spring. Are you thinking of making a move? Call me for no obligation chat about your thoughts and plans - 510.388.6841
Thank you for being my "eyes and ears" out there.  If you know of anyone contemplating a move I'd be honored to assist them!
