Nonprofits Supported by the Office of the County Executive

Prince George's County's  Office of the County Executive awarded nearly $1.4 million in funding last month as part of the Community Partnership Grant Program.  Congratulations to the nonprofits - including more than 20 Nonprofit Prince George's County members -- that received important funds fo r their missions and services.

County Local Development Council Awards $337,000 
The Office of County Executive and the Prince George's County Local Development  Council celebrated the 11 nonprofit organizations that were awarded funding to serve the people and communities in the impact area around MGM National Harbor. We salute our member organizations:  Pickett Fences Senior Services, Inc. and The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George's County, Inc.  
New Housing Rehabilitation Assistance Program Available 
The Prince George's County Department of Housing and Community Development has partnered with Housing Initiative Partnership and the Redevelopment Authority of Prince George's County to provide home improvement loans of up to $60,000 to eligible homeowners who need to make repairs on their homes. 
Maryland Nonprofits Annual Conference Approaches
Join more than 300 change makers on October 4-5 during  Maryland Nonprofits ' annual conference packed with 30 sessions. At this year's conference, the focus will be  on creating the greatest impact possible by advancing equity and investing in solid organizational capacity.

Three Nonprofit Prince George's County Members New to #OneoftheBest List
C ongratulations to all of the nonprofits named to the 2018-19 Catalogue for Philanthropy list, including nine from Prince George's County. New to the list this year includes three Nonprofit Prince George's County members: Friends of Greenbelt Theater, Little Friends for Peace, and Community Advocates for Family and Youth (CAFY). In this month's photo, we celebrate CAFY's work. You may have heard about CAFY's new, free app called "Safe Night" designed so people in Prince George's County can find the emergency housing they need.  Watch recent coverage by WUSA9 .  
  • The Arc of Prince George's County was named honorable mention (in the top three) for the Center for Nonprofit Advancement's 2018 AIM Award.
  • The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George's County, Inc. in collaboration with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Iota Gamma Omega Chapter, is hosting its 23rd Annual 5K Walk/Run on September 29 at Watkins Regional Park.
