The UK and Canada are running a joint funding competition to support collaborative research and development (CR&D) projects, to develop new products, processes and services. Projects must target improvement to the productivity and sustainability of crop, livestock and aquaculture systems . Read more .
Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) supports the development of leading industry geographic clusters through its Business Scale-up and Productivity (BSP) program. The BSP program is open to incorporated high-growth businesses that have been operating in western Canada for a minimum of 2 years. Preference may be given to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with less than 500 full-time employees (FTEs). Find out more and apply here .
The recent rail blockades have generated much discussion and for many, frustration. There is frustration from Indigenous communities who believe their rights are being ignored and also from businesses that believe their right to conduct business is being hampered. Canada has some important work to do to find a path forward that will provide greater clarity and overall fairness. The SCC sent a letter to Deputy Prime Minister Freeland and several other government leaders including Premier Moe. This letter clarified the chamber's position and indicated the terms were used in past correspondence that were not helpful to the situation. Read the full lette r here .
Sask Business in the News
Residents in central and northern Saskatchewan will soon have improved access to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) services thanks to Mayfair Diagnostics. The Saskatchewan Health Authority has awarded a contract to Mayfair Diagnostics to deliver publicly-funded, community-based MRI services in Saskatoon and to continue providing MRI services in Regina. Mayfair is owned and operated by over 60 radiologists, more than 40 of whom are licenced to practice in Saskatchewan. Find out more about Mayfair Diagnostics or read the FAQs .
