Insight into the Music - Gregorian Chant

On October 25th, Musica Sacra will present Gregorian propers for Multiple Martyrs, out of Pascale Time (Missa De Pluribus Martyribus: Extra Tempus Paschale) in celebration of the Feast of Saint Crispin, a feast day which is celebrated on October 25th.

During the Middle Ages, Gregorian chant was a way to let liturgical text ascend along the heights of cathedral arches to create a truly mystical experience. Now, a millennia later, this pure unadorned music continues to provide moments of transcendence and timelessness.

As we create a dialogue across the ages, the authentic experience of hearing Gregorian chant and medieval mass movements in the world's largest gothic cathedral provides the perfect setting to hear evocative new works by women composers.
