Zoom Call Tips! Did you know that if you join a Zoom call on the phone (not via the video app or your computer), you can still raise your hand? Use *9 to raise - and then lower - your hand. This is just like school and tells the moderator you'd like to share something with the groupl

You can also mute and unmute yourself using *6. Thanks to Mary for these insights!

Managers & Supervisors Discussion Group
You are invited to a discussion group for managers and supervisors every Thursday, beginning April 30, from 8:30 -9:15 a.m. on Zoom.
Social distancing ushered in by the coronavirus pandemic caused social services and behavioral health agencies to move at warp speed in developing protocols to respond to those they serve at a most urgent time in their lives, placing extreme stress on managers and supervisors who created and launched new systems and procedures while supporting frontline staff at a time of unusual need.
Many people who work as managers and supervisors hold the grief, concern and stress of many in the workplace as well bearing their own responsibility and concerns about program effectiveness. Many also find they have neglected their own self-care in the service of supporting those on the frontlines. Despite the widespread presence of virtual connections, managers and supervisors may feel unable to connect with others because they serve unique positions within their organizations.
Hosted by the Northampton Recovery Center and Hampshire HOPE and facilitated by healthcare Chaplain Anne Bauer. Get all the details HERE and online HERE .

Massachusetts Form PC Filing Deadline Extended
Because of widespread disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Non-Profit Organizations/Public Charities Division is extending by six months the filing deadlines for all annual charities filings for fiscal year 2019. This extension is in addition to automatic six-month extensions that many charities are granted.

In addition, where a signature is required, we will accept original signatures, photocopies of signatures, and e-signatures (e.g., DocuSign). Find the details HERE on Mass.gov.
The Massachusetts Office of the Child Advocate (OCA) in partnership with UMass Medical is launching a public information campaign designed to make Massachusetts families aware of state resources that are available to them and encourage struggling families to reach out for help. We would greatly appreciate your assistance in spreading the word.
We have posted a series of graphics on this website ( https://www.mass.gov/lists/we-all-need-help-sometimes ) that are available to be printed, emailed, and/or shared on social media.
Currently the graphics are available in English and Spanish (with one exception, which we are still working on translating.) We are working on getting them translated into additional languages, and will post those versions as soon as they are available.
If you have any questions about this project, please contact Melissa Threadgill at the Office of the Child Advocate:  Melissa.Threadgill@mass.gov . Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide in getting the word out to the community that help is out there.
The Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) will receive an additional $200M nationwide to support pantries, shelters, meal programs, rent, and utility assistance. Although the award amount for Hampshire County has not been released yet, you can learn more via a pre-recorded webinar HERE.

Census 2020 is seeking a mascot! From the Census update: We are hoping to attract some creative, artistic, and talented people to engage in our New York Regional Mascot contest. That's right! We are looking for a mascot that officially represents all of the states in our great region -- Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Vermont. Sounds tricky, but we are confident you, or someone you know, can have some fun creating something imaginative, distinctive, and representative of the region. There are no restrictions or guidelines to what you may create.

For example, community members Ali Smith and Russell Gong conceived and created  CENSUSAURUS (see attachment)  during the Queens Museum Create-A-Thon back in early March. This entry came in the form of an illustration, but you are free to provide any sort of artwork (picture, animation, craft, etc.) you prefer.

The deadline for entries is Friday, May 8 and the winner will be announced on Friday, May 15. Following that date, we will be sure to display our new mascot in as many places as possible throughout the rest of the 2020 Census campaign! Please send your entry via email to  new.york.rcc.Partnership@2020census.gov .
