School is officially back in session! We are so excited to have our students and staff back on campus, and in our classrooms. This is going to be an outstanding year and I can’t wait to see how our students will grow and what they will accomplish.

In our state preschool programs, our youngest learners are just beginning their educational journeys, while our special education students are already breaking barriers and creating new learning pathways. And in our alternative education classrooms, our students are earning their high school diplomas and preparing for their futures.

No matter the program, our educators understand that behind every student, there is a unique story and they work tirelessly to provide support to help them overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

At SBCSS, we believe every student deserves the chance to recognize their unique potential, prepare for life-long learning and the world of work, and live a life of significance. By providing support and diverse opportunities, we create a cycle of success that strengthens the vitality of our entire community. That’s how we continue transforming lives through education.

In partnership,

Ted Alejandre

State Preschool

At our state preschool sites, the youngest members of our educational community are just beginning their learning journeys. For many, this marks their very first experience in a school setting, a moment filled with wonder, excitement and discovery.

Within these nurturing classrooms, our educators welcome students into environments intentionally designed to spark curiosity, build confidence and foster a lifelong love of learning. From exploring new ideas to forming friendships, every moment is an opportunity to grow.

We believe that early education is more than preparation; it’s a powerful investment in the future of our region. By supporting our preschoolers today, we’re laying the foundation for tomorrow’s leaders, innovators and problem-solvers.

These bright young minds will one day shape our communities with creativity, compassion and resilience. And it all begins here, in classrooms where dreams take root and potential begins.

Special Education

In our special education classrooms, the start of the school year is a new opportunity for our students to progress towards their full potential and build the life skills they’ll need for the future. These spaces are uniquely designed to meet students where they are—with adaptive tools and compassionate teams who believe in every learner’s potential.

Whether it’s communication, independence or academic progress, each milestone matters. These classrooms are filled with daily proof that with the right environment, students with special needs can reach remarkable heights and surprise us all.

Special education isn’t just about academic instruction; it’s about empowerment and creating pathways to lifelong success. As the year unfolds, we celebrate the resilience of our students and the dedication of our staff, who make inclusion and progress possible every single day.

Alternative Education

In our alternative education programs, students are returning with determination and hope, ready to continue their journey toward earning a high school diploma. Many have faced significant challenges, and these classrooms offer the flexibility needed to move forward. Some are continuing their progress, while others are just beginning to discover the power of a learning environment built around their unique needs.

Our educators know that behind every student is a story, and they work tirelessly to provide personalized instruction and wraparound services that meet students where they are. From academic coaching to emotional support, these programs are designed to remove obstacles and build confidence.

Every day, we witness students reclaim their potential and set new goals. These alternative education programs are the steady foundation they need to confidently take meaningful steps towards a brighter future.
