Greetings,

Water is a precious resource in North Texas, and supplies are limited. But don’t let that deter you from having a vibrant, colorful yard. With a few simple adjustments, you can significantly reduce water consumption without sacrificing your landscape’s beauty.

One of the easiest ways to optimize your watering schedule is to leverage the expertise of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. Their free weekly recommendations can take the guesswork out of when and how much to water your lawn.

Beyond adjusting your watering schedule, consider these additional water-saving tips:

  • Choose drought-tolerant plants: Many beautiful flowers and shrubs thrive in arid conditions.
  • Mulch your garden: Mulch helps retain soil moisture and suppresses weed growth.
  • Fix leaks promptly: Even small leaks can waste a surprising amount of water.
  • Collect rainwater: Utilize rain barrels to capture precious rainwater for your garden.
  • Water efficiently: Avoid watering during the hottest parts of the day when evaporation is high.

Incorporating these water-saving practices into your routine can help conserve this vital resource while maintaining a stunning outdoor space.

Sincerely,

Heather Bordner-Ayyob

Gardening Reminders

With the summer heat in full swing, we understand gardening can be a challenge. However, we kindly ask residents to remove any empty planters from yards. Empty containers can collect standing water, attracting unwanted pests.

If you are taking a break from planting this season, please store planters neatly out of sight until you are ready to use them again.

Hook and Harvest

Date: Saturday, September 6th

Time: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

Location: Front Ponds

Cast a line, shop local, and soak up a relaxing day by the ponds! In partnership with the Sports Committee, Hook & Harvest is taking the place of our traditional Fishing Tournament this year. This family-friendly fall gathering blends the joy of fishing with the charm of a hometown market, and the pond will be freshly restocked for the occasion.

Bring your fishing poles for a laid-back morning by the ponds. No competition, just smiles and good times for all ages. Stroll through local craft booths, pick up fresh goodies from our farmers market, and enjoy the crisp autumn air with friends and neighbors.

Chess Club: Thursday, August 21st starting 5:30 pm at Club Inspiration.

Association Office Closure:
