Hello Everyone!
Welcome Back to the Herd

The seasons are changing and here in the Northwest the week began with a downpour that reminds us how those big green trees grow so strong and tall. It doesn't happen without the nourishment that nature brings it with a good soaking. We may find it difficult to adapt to the change but like the horse, in order to find balance in our life we must look at each new experience as an opportunity to grow. This is the time of year when I find myself playing indoors with the horses as I create obstacle courses in the arena, improve my techniques on the ground and teach my horse to dance to the latest music at liberty. I'm able to ride the horses indoors and take every chance to practice my Centered Riding so that I can share it with my students. Best of all, I get to spend time with my friends at the ranch, including our newest group, the Women of Whispering Willow! So, take this season to find new opportunities for love and learning and soak in the moments of life that enrich you!

First WOWW (Women of Whispering Willow) Gathering
Our first gathering was a huge success with women from all over coming together to meet new friends. The horses displayed their usual playful, energetic selves looking for the attention of the crowd that had gathered to meet them. After meeting each other through "interesting questions" everyone had an opportunity to discover what it takes to get a 1,000 lbs trick or treater, Levi to visit their "home". Working together as a herd takes good communication, learning your role in the group and being willing to think outside of the box-being adaptable and cooperative. It was great fun for everyone.

It was especially fun for Waverley who made his DANCE DEBUT at the first gathering, moving to one of his favorite Halloween songs, "Ghostbusters" with his partner Cathy. This is just the beginning of a new career for this playful, energetic arab gelding. You won't want to miss a minute of it, so JOIN US!

Our next meeting is December 5th

Focus Equals Reality
Using Clear Intent to Make Positive Change

There is a need in all of us to find the clearest path in our journey through life. None of us wants to struggle with each step along the way. Horses are masters of clear intent, focusing on the present moment and like us, always learning to use the least amount of energy to get the most out of that moment. The key to success is to improve our focus, to not waste energy on thoughts/feelings that serve no purpose, to instead create positive words and pictures that lead us to more forward movement in our life. My Blog and learn to bring more focus into your life on the ground, in the saddle and in every moment of every day!
