Seeing the bigger picture

Mark and Teresa Richey, owners of Mark Richey Woodworking and WallGoldfinger Furniture, visited Rujewa, Tanzania, in September with friend and Himalayan Cataract Project co-founder Dr. Geoff Tabin helping to restore sight to nearly 300 people.

Boston City Hall Plaza

Historic Boston City Hall Plaza is nearing completion on a renovation aimed at improving usability and accessibility. Mark Richey Woodworking worked with Shawmut to help realize the city and architect Sasaki's vision for the large space by building and installing extensive exterior benches made from weather resistant ipe wood and bronze as well as an entryway made from black locust.

Telepresence,
on a grand scale

This curved table designed by AECOM and built by WallGoldfinger is the ultimate telepresence table. It's large in size, both curves and has an angled base. It has a riser with technology and custom metal name holders, and mixes veneer and engineered stone. Installed at a U.S. military base in Hawaii, it also serves an important function for our nation.

AWARDS

Company honored as green manufacturer

Non-profit manufacturing promotion organization MassMEP, along with a host of cosponsors, held a Celebration of Northeast MA Manufacturers in recognition of their contributions to the regional economy on Oct. 18. Mark Richey Woodworking was recognized with a Sustainability Award "for being one of the greenest manufacturers in the nation by incorporating alternative energy resources - wind, biomass and solar - to run and operate your facility."

Chief Operating Officer Greg Porfido, pictured above center, accepted the award on the company's behalf. "I am so proud of our company's investment in onsite renewable energy, resulting in the lowest carbon footprint among our peers," Greg said.
