Invitation to Prayer

Join Our Prayer Team!

"When I think about my experiences as a member of the NPC prayer team, the first words that come to mind are gratitude joy, and love. I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve as part of this mission. It is indeed a privilege and honor to pray for and with others in our extended NPC community. Through prayer we give praise, and thanks. We also ask for forgiveness and guidance as we move through many of life's ups and downs. To me prayer is a major focus of love....love of God, his son Jesus and our neighbors. My heart is filled with joy and love as I help others feel heard and spiritually supported. Through this prayer outreach, my own life has been incredibly enriched."

Mission Spotlight

Scott Brill, The Initiative

Inspired by Jesus’ prayer in John 17:23 and missional ecumenism, The Initiative is committed to “living out deep and growing friendship with Jesus and all his followers, so that the love of Christ might exceed all our divisions.” They do this through:

· Praying daily for a radical increase of love in and for the whole body of Christ

· Sharing our lives with Christians from traditions other than our own

· Working proactively for greater unity within Christ’s Church

The Initiative has small communities around the US that meet regularly to encourage one another to practice unity and community. Their conviction, and Jesus’ prayer, is that when disciples connect with those from other church traditions, ethnicities, etc., these encounters and friendships enable us to love one another -- which Jesus said is our primary witness!
