own Great Outdoors

Surrounded by dappled sunlight and mature trees, a Schuylkill Haven property became the perfect place for people, pollinators, and everything nature.



Although Bob and Debbie lived in their home for 31 years, its focus had always been on a growing family. When a lifestyle change came to pass for the couple, their large inground pool was removed and a dream took its place.

Enter Team Anewalt’s! Eddie headed to Schuylkill County to learn Bob and Debbie’s hopes for their property.

Debbie described the great communication which took place in which Eddie shared his vision to encourage her beloved Monarchs and other pollinators, add to the existing mature plantings, create a perfect and private spot for gathering with family and friends, and ensure wheelchair accessibility to the new great outdoors.

With Debbie’s input in place, a plan was made and work began, a process the couple felt was creative, positive, and professional from the beginning.



Serious travelers, Bob and Debbie have visited national and state parks all over the country. “We like being outside and we can’t travel anymore,” Debbie said.

Today, Bob and Debbie have a true staycation, just a few steps from the back door. They can travel a winding paver walkway, enjoying large beds filled with pollinator favorites like milkweed, coneflowers, salvia, and butterfly weed. 

The path ends at a large kidney bean shaped patio graced by a seating wall and large fire pit, but still with plenty of space for Debbie’s new dining table and multi-colored Adirondack chairs.

Team Anewalt’s didn’t stop in Bob and Debbie’s backyard. Foundation plantings along several sides of the house, a new split rail fence along the roadway, new grassy areas, fresh ground cover and rhododendron continue the peaceful feeling of the entire property.

And don’t forget ease of maintenance! Debbie is happy with the irrigation system added by the team to reduce the number of outdoor tasks she takes on to keep things looking beautiful.

Debbie and Bob are excited with all the new opportunities their new outdoor spaces will bring for years to come.

“We have a big July 4^th party planned and everyone’s going to come”, Debbie said of her recreated great outdoors. “And we’ll have friends sit back here and drink a glass of wine.”
