| Why it matters Lack of water can cause fatigue, brain fog, aches and pains in the body, dry skin, dizziness, heart palpitations, muscle cramps, and lack of sweating. Our body is up to 75% water, so yes, it's important to drink water! Here is a little story for you. A patient diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, came to my office and while doing some testing, I asked him to drink half his body weight in ounces every day until our next visit. Much to his surprise, he was 90% better (his words). Water is essential to LIFE! Which water is best? We are blessed in the country to have clean water to drink so freely. Did you know that only 0.1% of water on the planet is clean and drinkable? There is filtered, ionized, alkalinized, mineralized. Here is a guide to types of water filters. This topic I will have to discuss further in an upcoming blog. My preference is to drink filtered water and to add Ionic minerals, specifically I use ConcenTrace minerals, 10 drops per liter. This alkalinizes and mineralizes without burning a hole in your wallet. Is my body acidic? Take the test. What foods help me be more alkaline? You guessed it, nutrient rich veggies, fruits and especially greens such as barley grass, chlorella and spirulina. Even if you eat 10 servings a day (1/2cup per serving), you may want to supplement with a high quality green drink, including these detoxing super foods. Water around the world Around the world, many struggle to get clean water. 800 million people on the planet do not have drinkable water accessible to them. There are actually 1.6 million deaths per year attributed to dirty water and sanitation issues. (World Health Organization) Watch this video #LOVE WATER If you are so inclined, there is a time today to say a prayer, in honor of the water on our planet. This is happening all around the world and organized by Unify.org. The time is 6pm PST. Questions? Email me directly at naturalhealth@drwendywells.com |
