School Year Success Stories

Growth of the thinkAG Career Initiative

thinkAG initiatives expose students to the dynamic careers in agriculture and inspires them to be a part of feeding the world. AITC-SK hosted 2 NEW thinkAG Career Expos, for a total of 4 expos, engaging over 1,600 students in learning about ag careers. Additionally, over 11,400 students had the opportunity to attend a career fair where we hosted a thinkAG booth. THANK YOU to our thinkAG sponsors and the many organizations that hosted stations at the expos!

Real Farms, Real Learning

AITC-SK provided 55 classrooms and 1,356 students with bus bursaries to visit a farm or ag business. For many students, this was their very first time on a farm! Thank you UFA Agricultural Community Foundation for fueling the Farm & Ag Tour program.

"It was such a joy going and watching the students experience the farm. They were completely engaged during the entire time, from looking at the equipment, going to the canola field, to seeing and feeling the different products ... Thanks for offering this opportunity." - Grade 4 teacher.

From Program to Profits: How 9 High School Students Built a Successful Business this Spring

Marsha Barteski-Hoberg registered her Entrepreneurship 30 class for AITC-SK's Edible Enterprises program to help her students explore the food product development process from farm, through business and marketing, all the way to the consumer.


The students created TripleW Jerky, and as a team grew their business, ending the year off with $3890 in revenue. Students were able to take a profit home, but also used their revenue to make a $200 donation to the Wynyard and District Food Bank.

"Journey 2050 is a great way to expose non farm students to the day to day decision making a farmer makes. It shows them where the food comes from and how Canada compares to other countries. The lessons that go with each module are also wonderful!" – Susan Barton, teacher.

K-12 Classroom Experiences

AITC-SK was invited into 227 classrooms throughout the school year to deliver agricultural presentations on food production, food security, sustainability, careers, and more! Over 5,300 students were engaged in learning about agriculture and the importance in our daily lives.

Gearing up for Summer

Ag in Motion 50/50

The AIM 50/50 is administered by 4-H Sask and AITC-SK. Purchasing a 50/50 ticket helps build a stronger future for agriculture by raising funds to support experiential agriculture education and leadership development in youth. Watch your inbox for more details in the next week!

Teacher Agriculture Expedition

In August, AITC-SK is taking 25 teachers on a 3-day tour to grow their understanding of agriculture. Teachers will meet people in ag, learn about sustainability, technology, and modern farming, and bring their knowledge back to classrooms.
