Two Ways to See the Show!
In Person at the SEFAA Center:

Virtually (Anytime. Anyplace):

The Square Foot Fiber Art Pin Up Show is an annual exhibition of small-format textiles that SEFAA has been hosting since 2012. It’s a fun, free show that is open to everyone regardless of age, location, or skill level. The only requirements are:

  1. Entries must be 12” x 12” or smaller (or 12” x 12” x 12” or smaller for 3-D pieces), and
  2. Entries must incorporate at least one textile technique –from applique to weaving and everything in between.

There are 51 wonderful 2021 entries, so it'll be hard to choose your three favorite entries plus the entry you think best represents "Joy" (this year's optional theme). Winners will receive bragging rights and a swanky ribbon, plus their entry will be featured on SEFAA’s social media platforms for one month in 2022.
Labels with “Kimono Project Entry” indicate works that incorporate kimono fabric donated by Yoshi Furuta. Last year, Mr. Furuta generously gifted SEFAA eight of his late mother’s, Misao Furuta's, kimonos with one stipulation - that they are used to make art. So, we took apart the kimonos and then created small packages with a selection of fabrics. These packages were free on a first-come, first-served basis to anyone who agreed to incorporate at least three of the five fabric pieces in a Square Foot Fiber Art Pin Up Show entry. True to the spirit of this show, the Kimono Project pieces are wonderfully creative and diverse. They are also a tribute to Mr. Furuta who chose to give new life to treasured textiles and his mother whose artistic spirit lives on in these new works.
