Tuesday September 10th was our annual installation banquet. We retired our 2018-2019 officers and directors, installed our officers and directors for the 2019-2020 year and celebrated our success. Lt. Governor-Elect, Tina Pegler and our Division Foundation Trustee  Bruce Boyd attended. Mick Sheldrake, current Lt. Governor was called away to assist with the Hurricane Dorian recovery. 31 members and guests attended. Thank you for a great evening Crowne Plaza staff.

Five members attended the Sanibel breakfast meeting September 10th. 
Thank you Erin McNulty, Barbara Hartman, Cathy Smith, Todd Adams and Linda Petrik for making this interclub a reality. As a result, our club visited each club in our division, making for a true "round robin" completed this year.

Membership Chair Stewart Ross officially installed Erin McNulty. He also reported we will finish the year with 47 members. We are 15th in our district with a net gain of 9 members. 

President Rachel thanked everyone for their service as officers, directors and members. She highlighted just some of projects and fundraisers we completed this past year. Ongoing projects include; Oasis Reading room, Literacy Buddy, MS Support Group, Atlas distribution (4 schools), Sensory Rooms (4 total, 2 of these are new), BUG program in 3 schools, SLP's-Aktion, CKI, Key, Builders, and K-Kids. Special projects: Luvy Bear, Kiwanis One Day, Trunk or Treat, Bell Ringing, Meals of Hope, Breakfast with Santa, United Way, Diaper collection, Read Across America, Golisano Hospital, Easter Egg Hunt, March of Dimes, Military support, Stamp Out Hunger, Ronald McDonald House, Edision Science and Inventors Fair, and Back to School. Primary fundraisers; 5K BUG run and Delicious Dining Books, others include weekly baby bottle collections for local non-profits and special events. Our club was represented at DCON, ICON, DCM's, and CLE training. We also had a number of socials and holiday parties. 
In-coming President Lindsey shared her goals for the upcoming year; inspire and achieve and let's bring in more members so we can do more service. 

Oasis Reading/Mentoring at Orangewood  Elementary (Stewart Ross). This year will again be on Wednesdays but earlier time frame 9:00am-10:10am. We are starting in October. Please let Stewart Ross know if you can help. 4 volunteers are needed each week. 

MS Support Group-(Bill Grant), meets 3rd Thursday of each month at St. Hilary Episcopal Church. Please consider attending a meeting and learn about this project so we'll have more 
back up volunteers.  

Literacy Buddy  Calling all "buddies." It's time to sign up if you want to participate again this year. You will be paired with a child (age 4-5). Three times a year you will get a letter from your child and a few notes from his/her teacher describing the type of book they would like to have. You purchase the book and it goes to your child. You can learn more from members that participated in the past or our own Susan Block.  Start by signing up:     In the section where it says preferred school write in Metro-McGregor Kiwanis Club.
