Jersey Jack Reveals Third Pin at Expo

It's been a big week for pinball! Jersey Jack decided to add to all the excitement with the surprise unveiling of the company's third pingame at the annual Pinball Expo in Chicago last night (Oct. 13). The game, Dialed In, is the company's first original concept game and was designed by legendary pinball creator Pat Lawlor. Dialed In is set to deliver in quarter two of 2017 and the company is taking orders now.

"We are so excited to finally be able to share this game with our fans," said Jack Guarnieri, Jersey Jack Pinball founder. "This machine embodies our company-wide mission to bring premium, no-compromise games to our fans, with features that have never been seen before in a pinball game."

Dialed In is the first game designed by Lawlor in over a decade. Early reports from JJP tell of at least one previously unseen feature in pinball machines: smartphone integration.

During multiball, a player can place their smartphone facedown on the glass to activate a special mode. That's far from the new machine's only exciting feature though: the game's backbox is filled from side-to-side with a 27"HD monitor, five magnets are spread throughout the playfield, a 3D interactive projected image appears and disappears, a smartphone with a small LCD screen, and an animated robot toy and hidden trap door should keep gameplay interesting.

The game is also being released in a limited run as a Collector's Edition and Limited Edition, with distribution beginning summer of 2017. They will both feature original art by illustrator John Youssi, as well as player-controlled audio jacks and a five-speaker stereo surround sound system.

JJP presented the new game alongside their newest edition of The Hobbit. According to Guarnieri, over 400 people attended the unveiling and his company sold over 700 games last night alone. For more info on the new machine, click here.

Adam West Gets First Peek at Batman '66

A recent video posted to Stern Pinball's Facebook page showed the exact moment that actor Adam West got to see the company's Batman '66 pinball (which West is featured in) for the first time. After a long flight, the well-known actor was too excited to go to his room and went straight to the Stern Pinball/KaPow booth at Pinball Expo to see the machine for himself. (The picture at top shows West with famed game designer Joe Kaminkow.) Stern says West was "blown away" by the game and wants one for his house. Click on the image above to see the video!

Tonight, Stern Pinball is hosting its Epic 30th Anniversary Extravaganza at Viper Alley in Lincolnshire, Ill. Look for coverage of this sold-out event in a future Instant RePlay, plus read the story about Stern's first three decades in pinball manufacturing inside the upcoming November issue.

Sacoa/CenterEdge Expand System Integration

CenterEdge has announced increased integration between their Advantage POS system and Sacoa's PlayCard debit system. The initial integration, which was first introduced in 2015, allowed venues to perform a variety of Sacoa-related functions directly from the CenterEdge system, including the ability to sell and reload PlayCards from CenterEdge workstations or tablets.

The latest version (16.5) released in early October provides a number of enhanced support features for CenterEdge's deferred revenue accounting option, as well as the ability to capture sales from Sacoa's automated self-service kiosks.

"These new enhancements really move us from an interface to a full integration with Sacoa," said Merrik Keller, Director of Business Development for CenterEdge. "Allowing joint users to reap the benefits of each system without compromising guest service and while maintaining consolidated revenue reporting."
