Institute Day 2019 - January 14 Registration
Institute Day 2019 will be held on March 1, 2019 at various Kane County locations. We want to thank all of the host sites for volunteering their classrooms, auditoriums, and available spaces along with those who put in a presenter proposal. All of these continued efforts help us make Institute Day possible!

Registration is now open for Fineline Creative Arts Center and Water Street Studios. You can register for these sites by visiting https://kaneroe.org/institute-day/

Registration will open at 12:01 AM on January 14th, 2019 (Sunday into Monday) for the remainder of the host sites. Registration is first come, first serve basis, so once a host site is filled it will not be reopened.

Short-Term Substitute Teaching License - NEW DATES
Back by popular demand are more opportunities to obtain a “Short-Term Substitute Teacher’s License.” The Kane County Regional Office of Education is holding multiple in-person courses on how to obtain your short-term license.

This program is offered to those who hold an associate’s degree or have 60 semester hours completed. This license will be valid until June 30, 2023, but may not be renewed.

Donna Bordsen - Thank You & Congratulations!
After 32 years of working in the transportation department of Kane County school districts, we would like to wish Donna the best in her retirement!

Donna started with U-46 in 1986 until 1992 where she transitioned to D300 until today. Donna was a state certified bus instructor that has taught Initials and Refreshers at the ROE over the past two fiscal years.

From everyone at the Kane County ROE – good luck!
Upcoming P.E. Trainings In Aurora
The P.E. advocacy training is meant for educational leadership, among other groups, so we would like to invite you or your representative to attend, as well as your other district/school leaders, teachers, school wellness council members and parents.

The training will provide participants with an overview of the campaign to advocate for the state to adopt a policy requiring districts/schools provide 150 minutes of physical education (P.E.) per week to elementary school students and 225 minutes of P.E. per week to secondary school students (the CDC/SHAPE America best practice), help participants identify high-quality P.E. practices and policies and opportunities for improvement, and provide hands-on practice talking to leaders and the media about improving P.E.

The Progress Report:
This week's post in The Progress Report is Katie's reflection on 2018 along with resourceful information on learning activities. There is also an incentive for reading this weeks blog (maybe a giveaway).

The Progress Report is a collaborative discussion space for professional learning. If there are any topics that you would like to see a post on or guest write yourself,  please contact Katie Algrim.
